Harvest Green Celebrates Mother Nature During Houston's Largest Home TourNature lovers rejoice, Fort Bend master-planned community Harvest Green is hosting several events celebrating Mother Nature during Houston’s Largest Home Tour in April. The unique community is just one of 14 Johnson Development projects featured in the tour, showcasing hundreds of homes — including 120 models — and community events that contribute to residents’ outstanding lifestyles. Events are free and open to the public. Eleven model homes will be open for touring in Harvest Green, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. While there, visitors can see the community’s Village Farm, where residents can grow their own produce on individual plots. From 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 22, Harvest Green celebrates Earth Day with crafts and a Farmers Market. Local vendors and artisans will provide vegetables, herbs, handmade gift items, children’s crafts and activities. The event takes place in Harvest Green and will highlight natural resources. On Arbor Day, April 30, visitors and residents can help Harvest Green take root as they plant citrus trees in the community. Afterwards, visitors can tour the community farm. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Harvest Green is a 1,300-acre farm-centric development located in Richmond. In addition to the farms, the community offers 30 acres of lakes and waterways, 280 acres of greenbelts and open spaces, 50 acres of parkland, a walkable trail system and a central roundabout. A planned recreation center will have a pool, fitness center and an amphitheater overlooking the lake. Other master-planned communities featured in the home tour are Riverstone, Imperial, Veranda and Sienna Plantation in Fort Bend County; Jordan Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch and Willow Creek Farms in Fulshear/Katy; Tuscan Lakes and Edgewater in the Bay Area; Fall Creek in northeast Houston; and Harmony, Woodforest and Grand Central Park in South Montgomery County.
