Harvest Green Schools Make the GradeNiche recently released its 2022 rankings for the best public elementary, middle and high schools in the state, and Harvest Green schools not only made the grade, they scored in the top 10 percent of Texas schools. Niche is an online research tool for parents looking for the best schools in the neighborhood. Rankings are based on up-to-date, publicly available data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, state testing results and the National Center for Education Studies. Parent reviews are also considered. Travis High School did particularly well. This onsite school scored an A as well as ranking among the top 8 percent out of 1,773 high schools. Helping students score impressively on state-wide, Advanced Placement, SAT and ACT tests are the teachers — approximately 47 percent of whom have advanced degrees. More than 20 Advanced Placement courses are available in English, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Studio Art, Art History, U.S. History, European History, Psychology, Government, Economics, Spanish, Environmental Science, Human Geography, Music Theory and Computer Science. Also located in Harvest Green, Bowie Middle School was ranked against 2,223 other middle schools in the state and landed among the top 10 percent. The Bowie Bears have a reputation for encouraging students to expand beyond the curriculum and participate in the school’s award-winning arts and athletics programs. Neill Elementary was evaluated against 4,614 schools and ranked among the top 10 percent. Students at the onsite elementary score above average on state-mandated tests. They are also encouraged to join the numerous clubs the school sponsors, including a garden club, robotics, coding, music and more. Music and art classes are available. We are proud of our schools and congratulate teachers, staff and students on a job well done. |
