Our Farmers Market Returns Dec. 8

“Bean” missing our fantastic Harvest Green Farmers Market? Well, we’ve got great news. The market is back, and we’re holding a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Everyone is invited to come out to the Village Farm, 8939 Harlem Road, to fill their reusable shopping bags with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as fresh eggs, meats and cheese from ethical handlers. Vendors also will be selling honey, preserved foods, flowers, plants and gifts — all locally sourced. Don’t have a bag? Get here early because the first 200 guests will receive a free Harvest Green bag.

There will be outdoor kitchens offering innovative creations perfect for a Saturday brunch. Local musicians will provide a vibrant, upbeat, atmosphere.

Everything sold at the market is either grown or made by vendors who must meet our rigorous standards for quality, purity and locality.

The result is a producer-only market with every vendor being a small business owner who is intimately involved with his or her craft. Which means that when you attend our market, you are supporting sustainable food production and the local economy.

While exploring the market, you’ll also have a chance to try out one of the many enhancements we’ve made, which is why the market closed last year. Our favorite new addition is just for the kids. We planted a new playground near the Village Farm, and it’s really cool with awesome swings, colorful tire steps and a vine maze.

Can’t make it? No worries. The farmers market takes place rain or shine, year-round on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
