Don't Miss Our 'Suite' Taste of The Nutcracker Dec. 3The Nutcracker is coming to town, and we are giving baby ballerinas and confirmed balletophiles alike an opportunity to get a “suite” taste of it at during our Harvest Holiday Exchange on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 2-6 p.m. Our sugar-dusted event takes place on the event lawn in front of our fabulous Farmhouse at 3400 Harvest Corner Drive, where InTempo Dance Ensemble and InTempo Dance students will perform excerpts of the beautiful holiday classic at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. If you don’t know the story of The Nutcracker, it’s the tale of a young girl named Clara and her Nutcracker Prince, who comes to life and takes her on a magical journey to the Kingdom of the Sweets. There she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and is entertained by dancing delicacies such as marzipan shepherdesses, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea and more. It’s a fabulous introduction to the world of ballet and often becomes a holiday tradition. The performance is a prelude to full-length performances of The Nutcracker by these talented young dancers at Seven Lakes High School in Katy on Dec. 16 and 17. In addition, we will have a holiday market full of unique gifts. If all of those swirling, twirling treats inspire hunger, we will have a selection of food trucks, including Renegade Kitchen Food Truck, on hand. Throughout the day, there will be ornament and cookie decorating workshops at 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. There will be a fee for the workshops. After each performance the cast will be available for pictures. The performance is being presented in conjunction with the Contemporary Art Museum of Fort Bend as part of an ongoing partnership that brings the arts to communities like Harvest Green. We always have something going on! Stay up to date with our event calendar.
