Harvest Green — Tops in the Nation!

When it comes to master-planned communities, we think we are awesome, but it’s always nice to get a second opinion. So we were pretty excited when the RCLCO mid-year report came out placing us on its list of the “Top 50 Master-planned Communities” in the nation for the first time.

RCLCO is a Washington, D.C.-based national real estate consulting company that compiles a list of top communities each year based on the number of homes sold. That list comes out in January, but they also release a mid-year report.  We placed at No. 41 with 175 sales. For those keeping track, that means our year-to-date sales are up 38 percent over our 2016 sales at this time! Most communities on the top 50 list experienced only a 19 percent growth rate, so we are well ahead of the curve.

According to the report, a common attribute of the top communities was “community connectedness.” Unsurprisingly, people like living in neighborhoods that allow them to make meaningful connections to their surrounding environment. They like amenities that allow them to spend time outdoors. They also like communities that provide places for people to get together — like exercise studios, planned events and community gardens.

Well, we have to say we have those in spades — and we tend to overachieve. Rather than a community garden, we have an entire farm for you to explore, with opportunities to meet your neighbors while helping to harvest vegetables, putting together chicken coops and feeding our goats. We’ve also got a beautiful new amenity center where the kids can play and adults take Pilates and yoga classes (sometimes with our goats). Our trail system allows residents to meet up while going on a morning jog or walking the dog. You can’t beat our resident-only events, either. We’ve got plant-based cooking classes, story hour for the kids, tickets to Skeeters games and a whole lot more.
